1. Who we are
- EA Converter runs ea-converter.com and the EA Converter app. Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) we are the responsible party for the personal information described here.
- Our information officer is [INFORMATION OFFICER NAME]. You can reach them, or our support team, through the support section of the EA Converter website or app.
2. What we collect
- Your account and purchases: your email address, your name if you give it, your plan, when your access started and ends, licence keys, and payment references.
- Your trading account in the app: to connect the app to your broker you enter your MetaTrader account number, password and server. The app keeps these on your phone so it can reconnect. The password is passed to our trading-connection provider to open the session; we do not keep it on our servers.
- Your device: an identifier for the phone your account is used on, so a licence works on the device it belongs to.
- Technical details: your IP address and browser details when you request a key, reactivate an account, reset a password or use our checkout, used for security and to stop abuse.
- Messages to us: the name, email and phone number you type into the chat on our website, and what you write.
- Mentors and affiliates: name, email, phone number, the social media handles you give us, files you upload (such as EAs) and, for affiliates, the details needed to pay commission.
3. Why we use it
- To give you access: activate your plan, issue and check licence keys, and keep your account on your device.
- To take payments and keep proper records of them.
- To send what you need: receipts, keys, reminders about your access ending, and replies to your questions.
- To keep the service safe: stop fraud, card testing and misuse.
- To pay mentors and affiliates what they earned.
- To measure our advertising (see Cookies below).
4. Who we share it with
- Payment providers that process your payment (such as Stripe, PayFast, Ozow, Yoco and Peach Payments). They handle your card or bank details; we never see or keep your full card number.
- Our email provider, to deliver receipts, keys and notices.
- Our trading-connection provider, to connect the app to your broker.
- Our web hosting and Cloudflare, which protects and speeds up our website, which store and serve our systems.
- Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that checkout is used by a person and not a bot.
- Meta (Facebook), through a measurement pixel on our website, to see how our adverts perform.
- We do not sell your personal information.
5. Outside South Africa
Some of these providers store information outside South Africa. We use providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to POPIA.
6. How long we keep it
- Account and payment records: while your account exists and for as long as tax and accounting law requires after that (usually five years).
- Security logs and IP addresses: only as long as needed to keep the service safe.
- Your trading password: not kept on our servers. It stays on your phone until you remove the app or clear its data.
7. How we protect it
Encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords stored as hashes, and access limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
8. Your rights
- You can ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it.
- You can object to direct marketing at any time.
- You can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za.
9. Cookies
- Our website uses cookies that are needed to sign you in and keep your session working.
- Our landing page also uses the Meta pixel, which sets cookies to measure our adverts. You can block these in your browser settings or with an ad blocker; the website still works.
10. Children
EA Converter is a trading tool and is not meant for anyone under 18.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
